E9 Wireless Review: Noise-Cancelling Headphones with Great Battery Life

I've reviewed several Mixcder headphones before and they usually offer quality design and appearance for an affordable price. The company sent me the E9 Wireless Active Noise Cancelling Headphones ($79.99) and these have some premium features at a fair price. For starters, these have a whopping 30-hour battery life, although that is without ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) enabled. If you turn on ANC, you get 24 hours, which is still long enough for just about any flight. And if you like to listen to the in-flight entertainment on the airplane, you can use the included airplane adapter, although that's less important on most of the planes I've flown lately.

Additionally, the E9 can be used with a wired cable (included) and if you enable ANC, you get a whopping 80 hours of use. When it does come time to recharge your E9 headphones, they still use microUSB. I would like to see USB-C (or Apple Lightning) just so there's one less cable to carry around and perhaps faster charging time. Despite the midrange price, I found the audio quality to have a broad range, with nice bass and decent highs, with ANC on or off.

Speaking of long-term use, these headphones sport an over ear design, which I greatly preferred as they put less (or no) pressure on my ears. Plus it's harder to cancel exterior noise with On-Ear headphones. They also look sleek thanks to a shiny earcup exterior. I would like to see more color choices besides basic black, but that's what most users might choose anyway.

Pros

  • Active noise cancellation
  • 30 hours of battery life in wireless mode, 80 hours ANC in wired mode
  • Over Ear design
  • Sleek earcup exterior
  • Airplane adapter

Cons

  • microUSB charging port
  • Only one color (black)

Final Verdict

The E9 Wireless Active Noise Canceling Headphones from Mixcder have premium features that more expensive headphones don't always offer.
