- Open the Settings app and tap General.
- Tap Date & Time.
- Make sure Set Automatically is toggled on if you want your date and time to be set automatically. If you want to set it manually, simply tap the toggle to turn it off.
- Tap the Time Zone to select a different time zone.
- Tap the date and a calendar will expand, allowing you to select a different date.
- Tap the time and a clock will expand, allowing you to select a different time.
- If the Set Automatically toggle is grayed out, that usually means you are using a Screen Time passcode. Screen Time is a feature that allows you to see how much time you spend on your phone, which apps you use the most, etc. Screen Time can also be used to limit your or your child's smartphone usage. You can lock Screen Time behind a passcode, preventing anyone from making changes to specific settings, like the date and time.
- To get the toggle back, go back to the main Settings screen and tap Screen Time.
- Tap Change Screen Time Passcode. If you don't see this option, that means you have not yet set up Screen Time.
- Tap Turn Off Screen Time Passcode.
- Enter your Screen Time Passcode.
- Follow steps 1-3 again to get back to the Set Automatically toggle. It should no longer be grayed out.
