How to Change Your Google Password on iPhone & iPad

How to Reset Password for Google on iPhone & iPad

I learned how to change my Google password on my iPhone when my phone gave me a security recommendation to reset the password because I'd used it for another account (silly, I know, but I haven't always been tech savvy!). If you need to learn how to change a Google account password for the same reason, or just because it's been a while, here's how:

  1.  Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap Passwords.

  3. Enter your passcode, or use FaceID or Touch ID to access your passwords.

  4. Tap Google or Gmail

  5. Tap the dots in the Password field to reveal your password, then tap Copy Password.

  6. Tap Change Password on Website to change your Google password.

  7. Touch and hold the password field, then tap Tap Paste to enter the password you copied in step 5. If you have more than one Google account, you'll want to make sure that the correct one is selected.

  8. Tap Next.

  9. If you've enabled iCloud Keychain, tap Use Strong Password. Tap Other Options to further customize your password.

  10. Google may want you to add information to your account profile. Tap Not now to move on.

  12. Tap Update Password to update your password in your iCloud Keychain.

  13. Tap Change Password one more time to confirm resetting your Google password.
