With Apple’s Spring Event over and its new products, the iPhone SE and the smaller iPad Pro, on store shelves, it’s time to look to the future. What can we expect to see at WWDC in June? Hopefully everything the Spring event couldn’t provide (...Macbooks) as well as updates to iOS and OS X. Apple holds its Worldwide Developers Conference at the Moscone West convention center in San Francisco, California each year, and according to Macrumors, the only time frame potentially available at the convention center is June 13 to 17.
Last year at WWDC, Apple announced iOS 9, OS X El Capitan, watchOS 2, and Apple Music. Each year, WWDC gives developers a chance to chat with Apple engineers and learn from workshops and software sessions.
So, what do we expect to see this year?
Software
Based on past conferences, Apple is likely to announce iOS 10 as well as a new OS X 10.12.
While it’s still too early to know much of the details for the new operating systems, one feature coming to OS X is said to be Siri for Mac. The delightful AI will finally be able to help you out across all your devices. It’s also rumored that both iOS 10 and OS X 10.12 will see improvements to the Photos app.
While these systems will be announced in June, they probably won’t be available to the public until fall. The iPhone 7 will surely ship with iOS 10 installed (in September), and it’s my hope that the rumored Macbooks to debut at WWDC will launch with OS X 10.12.

The Macbook Air can no longer be considered lightweight next to newer versions of Macbook. Clearly it’s time for a revamp. There’s been a rumor going on since November 2015 that Apple will introduce updated Macbook Air models at WWDC, and more recent rumors suggest a new Macbook Pro as well. There's been speculation that Apple will drop the Macbook Air line, but it's more likely that we’ll see an updated 13-inch and 15-inch Macbook Air in June. If anything is dropped from the Macbook Air line, it will probably be the 11-inch model. The revamped Macbook Air and Macbook Pro would have totally redesigned and upgraded internal components in a lighter, thinner body. You can expect a faster computer with stunning graphics.
So far, it sounds like WWDC Keynote will be another low-key event; although, I’d be ecstatic at Macbook announcements. Of course, we’ll continue to cover new rumors that surface for WWDC, and I guarantee we’ll cover the live event come June.
