How to See Moon Phases on Your iPhone

This tip was performed on an iPhone 17 Pro running iOS 26.5, and works on iPhones running iOS 17 and later. Find out how to update to the latest version of iOS.
It's easy to see moon phases on your iPhone and iPad once you know where to look. Just open the Weather app, and in a few quick steps, you'll see the current, past, and future phases of the moon. Here's how.
- Open the Weather app.

- Scroll down to the moon information. You'll see what phase the moon is on that day, the percentage of illumination, and the next moon rise or moon set.

- Touch and hold the moon.

- You'll see a slider that you can move to the right or left to see the phase of the moon on future or previous days.

- Swipe up to see the calendar. You can tap the back arrow to see moon phases in the previous month, and the forward arrow to see moon phases next month.
