In Messages with iOS 10, you can share clips of the music you’ve been recently listening to. This is thanks to the ability to download apps within the Messages app for use. In the same way you can send gifs and stickers to friends with Messages in iOS 10, you can also send clips of recently played music from the Music app with friends. Here’s how to share recently played music with friends.

To do this:

  • Open the Messages app. Start a new conversation or continue a thread.

  • Tap the arrow next to the text box.

  • Tap the App Store icon.

  • Here you have two options: either swipe through the apps at the bottom (where the keyboard normally is) until you come across Music, or tap the four circles in the bottom left corner and select Music.

  • Scroll through your music until you find the recently played song you want to share.

  • Tap the song you want to share. Tap the send arrow.
