What is the Strikethrough Keyboard Shortcut for Mac?
My favorite way to cross out text is to use the strikethrough keyboard shortcut. On a Mac, the strikethrough key shortcut is Command + Shift + "X". You can highlight the text you wish to have a line through, then type the shortcut. Another option is to press Command + Shift + "X" and then type text that is already crossed out. If you do this, you'll have to type the shortcut again when you're finished to return to normal text formatting.
How to Use a Crossed-Out Text Generator
In some cases, you might want to use an online strikethrough text generator instead. This works on Macs, iPhones, iPads, and other devices with a browser. There are many different crossed-out text generators, but the best one I've found is Content Harmony. Just click the link, type your text, make sure the strikethrough option is selected, then tap "Apply Formatting". You can then copy and paste the text in the document or app of your choosing (as long as strikethrough text is a supported format).
Now you know three ways to create strikethrough text in Google Docs. We hope that learning how to use the strikethrough shortcut will help you expand the way you use Google Docs, for example, as a virtual to-do list! Next, learn how to cut and paste using Mac keyboard shortcuts.
