How to Schedule Notification Summary on iPhone

We all see notifications from our favorite apps and even our infrequently used apps so often that it can be hard to focus. Too many alerts can make it easy to miss your important notifications, and distract you from what you should be doing! To fix this, follow the steps below to set up Scheduled Summary reports in Notifications on iPhone.

How to Schedule Notifications on iPhone in iOS 15

The option to set up daily notification summaries is a new iOS 15 feature, so if you have an earlier software version you will need to update to iOS 15 before utilizing this feature. For more great iOS and iPad OS 15 how-to content, check out our free Tip of the Day newsletter!

How to enable Scheduled Summary for iPhone notifications:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Select Scheduled Summary.
  4. Tap the Scheduled Summary toggle to start receiving scheduled notification summaries.
  5. You'll see some summaries automatically enabled.
  6. Tap the displayed time next to a summary to adjust when you'd like that report delivered each day.
  7. If you want to remove one of your daily summaries, tap the red minus icon.
  8. Tap Delete to confirm removing the daily summary.
  9. If you'd like to add an additional notification summary, tap the plus icon next to Add Summary.
  10. Scroll down to the Apps in Summary section to select which apps are included in the report.
  11. From here you can view apps by Daily Notification Average or tap A to Z to scroll through the list alphabetically.
  12. Tap the toggle next to an app to add it to your notification summary. Toggles will be green when enabled.

That's all there is to it! Once you add an app to the iPhone notification summary, the alerts from this app will be grouped and delivered at the time of your next scheduled notifications report.
