I have several MacBooks and even more monitors spread out across several offices, so I'm always looking for the best USB-C docks for MacBook, particularly multi-monitor ones. The folks at Choetech sent a review unit of their HUB-M11 HDMI VGA Hub with Wireless Charger ($46.79) to try. It comes close and at a great price given the functionality.

The first thing you'll notice is the shape. The HUB-M11 is a circular disc that looks like a Qi wireless charger. It should because that's one of the features it offers! But along the perimeter you will find several ports as well. There is an HDMI port that supports up to 3840x2160 at 30Hz or 1080p at 60Hz. But there's also a VGA port and you can use both simultaneously although at 1080p only. There are no USB-A or USB-C ports, which would have helped with further expansion. Still, it offers a nice combination as most USB-C hubs only have one HDMI port or cost a lot more.
There's also a microUSB port to power the hub (cable and wall adapter sold separately, but you probably have one of those laying around!) While I was able to operate the hub and charge my iPhone without using a microUSB cable, they claim it should be powered to charge a phone wirelessly. You may also want to plug a USB-C power cable into a different USB-C port on your MacBook so you're not limited by battery life. There is an integrated USB-C cable that tucks away under the unit, for travel. There are rubber accents on the top and bottom to protect your phone and keep the hub in place.
Pros
- Simultaneously supports two HD monitors via HDMI and VGA, or 4K on one HDMI port
- Integrated USB-C cable that tucks away
- Built-in Qi wireless charger
- Reasonably priced
- Nice circular design
- Rubber surface and bottom
Cons
- No USB-A or USB-C ports
- microUSB cable and wall adapter sold separately
Final Verdict
The HUB-M11 HDMI VGA Hub with Wireless Charger from Choetech can drive two monitors at the same time, while keeping your phone charged.
