NameDrop is a cool new feature that is available with Apple's most recent iOS 17 release. Why You'll Love This Tip:

  • Throw out your business cards and replace them with the new NameDrop feature available after updating to iOS 17.
  • A completely hands-free way to exchange contact info with another iPhone user as long as they are nearby.

System Requirements

This tip works on iPhones running iOS 17. Find out how to update to iOS 17.

Because NameDrop uses the same technology as AirDrop, you will need to have certain settings enabled before you can get this feature to work. You will need to have AirDrop enabled, which means you will need to have access and be connected to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Additionally, both devices need to be updated to iOS 17 or later.
