Reviewing the iPad Pro, I can’t help but feel like it was made for artists. The best apps I’ve seen optimized for the device are sketching apps. One such app is part of Adobe’s creative cloud, Adobe Photoshop Sketch (free). It’s still too early to find art solely made on the iPad Pro, but I decided to scour Behance for art specifically created with Adobe Photoshop Sketch on the iPad. Here’s my favorites.
This eye by Russian artist, Елена Стемпень. Published far too early to have been sketched on the iPad Pro, I would love to watch an Apple Pencil review by this woman.
“With its peeling paint, paper covered broken door glass and cardboard in one of the upper windows it has much character.” Said artist Michael Rath of his sketch on Behance. “Often what attracts us to something is its pristine perfection, but there is also a certain beauty in the flaws.” Too true, Michael. Too true.
This small collection of Brian Tapley’s work is aptly titled, Daily Studies. I personally love the style in this scene. Something about the thick strokes makes it feel alive and moving as though Jazz is wafting through the room.
It’s a dog! Yasuyuki Yoshioka is a student in Japan. I love the mix of colors used, especially around the dog’s eyes.
Feeling inspired yet? Imagine, if this is what’s possible on a regular iPad, the art coming off the iPad Pro is going to be stunning. Want to give the app a try? You can download Adobe Photoshop Sketch free here.
