How to Use the Drawing Tools in the iOS Notes App

  1. Open the Notes app and start a new note or open one that already exists.

  2. Tap on the marker icon to open your drawing tools.
  3. Choose a color and drawing tool.

  4. Begin your drawing.
  5. Tap Done at the top right when you're finished drawing.

  6. To return to typing mode, tap the canvas in the spot you want to place text.
  7. Tap Done when you're finished typing.
  8. Tap the marker icon again to add another drawing.

See how the drawing you’re creating is being made right on the note? Plus, you don’t have to worry about drawings covering typed text, as the app prevents any drawings from infringing upon the text.
