Just when you think there's no way to innovate when building a charging dock, along comes the Wireless Charging Station ($92.99) from Choetech. This thing has everything; an integrated Apple Watch charging port, a Lightning port, and a Qi wireless charging pad. If that weren't enough, there's a USB port on the back so you can add your own cable, for another Apple Lightning item or a USB-C or microUSB device. All of this could generate heat, so the charger has two cooling fans that expel heat from the bottom.

The Lightning port is special because it rotates to accommodate different size iPhones in different size cases. Or, you could charge an AirPod case. You could also use the Qi wireless charging pad to charge a smartphone or Qi-based AirPods. There are so many permutations and the extra USB port adds even more. I appreciate that Choetech includes the Apple Watch without having to provide your own Apple cable, which would cost $29 or so.

I also liked the rubbery surface and protective feet, which help ensure that the dock and your gear all stay put. If you find you can't make do without the dock, it's even collapsible for travel, as the Apple Watch support has a thumbscrew for easy removal. It is designed to keep the Apple Watch horizontal mount, which prohibits Nightstand Mode, but that's not a deal breaker.

Pros

  • Lightning port, Qi wireless charging pad and Apple Watch charger
  • Additional USB port
  • Rubbery surface and protective feet
  • Collapsible for travel
  • Rotatable Lightning port

Cons

  • Horizontal mount for Apple Watch prohibits Nightstand Mode

Final Verdict

The Wireless Charging Station from Choetech is the kitchen sink of charging docs, with something for everyone.
