Review: Unique Case from Wanle Doubles as a Gaming Console for iPhone

I grew up with the Gameboy and handheld LCD games before that. So I was excited to see and try the Gamers Console For iPhone ($79.95, on sale for $24.95) from Wanle.

The Wanle case looks just like a Game Boy, and is available in the original Game Boy gray or black. But what really sets the Gamers Console apart is that it doubles as an iPhone case! It is sold in assorted sizes for iPhone 6 all the way through the iPhone X. It doesn't use the iPhone's power. Instead, it uses the included coin-size batteries.

Wanle

It's a fun concept, with ten games including Tetris, Tank, Formula One Racing, and Snake & Block. The case isn't just a gimmick; it has sound and lots of nice rubbery buttons and a comfortable grip. As a case, it is quite protective around all the ports, including the bottom, where many cases skimp. It's not backlit ,but neither were the original LCD games!

Pros

  • Fun concept with ten games
  • Nice rubbery buttons and grip
  • Two color choices
  • Protective around all ports
  • Available for iPhone 6 through X

Cons

  • Not backlit

Final Verdict

If you remember the good old days of LCD games and the original Game Boy, the Gamers Console for iPhone from Wanle can help you relive those days.
