Check out our top app picks for texting, calling, and sharing media. Text messaging is hugely convenient, and many of us (myself included) prefer to send messages and content rather than to have unnecessary face-to-face interactions. These apps take on a whole new level of importance now that so many of us are working remotely. Sending quality documents, images, and text is crucial when conducting business and personal info-sharing, and apps that we once thought of for personal use only are now being employed to keep us employed.

These apps include a helpful voice to text app, as well as a popular Apple app, FaceTime.
In every issue of iPhone Life magazine, we feature the iPhone Home screens of people from different walks of life, so our readers can see how they use iPhone apps to meet a variety of needs. In our Summer 2020 issue, we featured Luca Sforza from Seattle, Washington. Luca runs a real estate photography business called Lensit Studio. The world of real estate photography has evolved in recent years to include video tours, drone photography, and 3D virtual photos, and the apps on his iPhone help Luca do it all.

I’m back in school for a business degree and just took a course where students run a very small venture using only $20 in startup capital. I chose 3D printing because it was already a hobby of mine, and a bottle of resin was only twenty bucks. I named my company Jax 3D Prints, and it’s done pretty well so far for a side hustle conducted for school. We sell miniatures for things like Dungeons and Dragons and custom parts that are usually more expensive, like washing machine knobs, at reasonable prices.

In 2011, he cofounded the Rochester Museum of Fine Arts and has served as a member of Rochester’s Commission for Arts & Culture since 2013.

At the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, I had the opportunity to try ReliefHeat smart heat wrap ($99). I had just spent about eight hours flying to Vegas, so my back was sore and this was just what the doctor ordered. In fact, I might have given ReliefHeat an iPhone Life Best of CES 2020 award, but the company didn't have a formal booth at CES, just an exhibit at one of the evening events for the press. Still, it was a great example of smartphone technology that meets the everyday needs of consumers.

If you ever listen to music on your smartphone and wonder if the audio quality could be better, you're right. It could. The folks at Dirac have been working on a technology to do just that. They sent me a prerelease version of the Dirac app to try, on an Android device and, indeed, sound quality was noticeably improved.
