Withings Thermo ($74.95)

This thermometer measures temperatures quickly and accurately by using a forehead swipe. iPhone Life CEO David Averbach used this the first time his daughter got sick and found it worked much better than the cheap thermometers he tried out first. The thermometer syncs with Withing’s iPhone app to let you track progress over time. If you have multiple family members sick at the same time you can track up to six people through different accounts (a feature we hope to never use, but many will). David says he “cannot emphasize enough how easy this thermometer is to use and how much peace of mind comes with it.”

Oura Ring (from $249)

The Oura Ring is a favorite across the iPhone Life team. With so many wearables out there focused on pushing harder in your workouts and always moving more, the Oura ring takes a holistic approach, tracking both sleep and activity, and giving you a Readiness Score for the day ahead, letting you tailor your day to your own baseline. It also detects moments of stress and adjusts your goals accordingly. Oura’s gentle guidance makes it easier to make healthy decisions and focus on taking care of yourself instead of stressing yourself out more while trying to hit aggressive fitness goals.

ZOZOFIT ZOZOSUIT ($159.99)

A smart scale will only take you so far. The ZOZOSUIT scans your entire body, giving you measurements with a precision that blows a smart scale out of the water. See your muscle and body fat percentage measured at different parts of your body and use that to set goals and track progress as your body changes with workouts and time. It can also help demystify online sizing charts when ordering clothes, giving you accurate measurements of your different body parts without wrestling a tape measure. This one is a favorite from last year that we just had to bring back.

Bebird EarVision Complete ($116.99)

Whether you’re like me and have a baby who hasn’t yet learned to verbalize that her ears hurt or you struggle with ear pain yourself, this handy tool not only lets you check out what’s going on in the offending ear canal but also offers tools to clear any blockages. It takes the stress out of ear drops with a special ear drops feature. The app also offers telehealth support, so you can ask questions and get guidance when needed. This one device not only replaces those ear swabs that just jam the wax in further but also might save you whole trips to the doctor.

KardiaMobile Card ($78)

CARE Imagine carrying a whole EKG machine in your wallet. That’s what the KardiaMobile Card is. Lightweight and easy to use, this little card offers FDA-cleared, medical-grade EKGs in less than a minute just by pressing your thumbs on the sensors. Once you take your EKG, you’re given a quick analysis and the option to order a clinician review or even speak with a cardiologist. Of course, KardiaMobile does not diagnose heart attacks, and if you suspect a medical emergency, seek care immediately.

I hope you've found one or more items to improve your health and fitness. Comment below if you have a recommendation for us to test for next year's roundup!
