“Let us loop you in,” is Apple’s tagline for the March event, officially set to take place on March 21. Rumors as to whether the event would take place on March 15 or March 21 have been circulating for months and now we have our answer. On Thursday, Apple sent out its invitations to select press for its event in Cupertino, California. Apple is expected to debut the 4-inch iPhone SE and a smaller version of the iPad Pro.
Of course, you can watch the keynote live here on Apple’s website. The event will be at Apple HQ’s whose address is One Infinite Loop, hence the tagline “Let us loop you in,” although we’d love to stretch that idea into a product hint.
Speaking of products, it’s widely accepted now that Apple will launch its revamp of the 4-inch iPhone by releasing the iPhone SE. It’s not expected to be a super innovative product and will look very similar to the iPhone 5 or 5s. Although it will have a better camera than the iPhone 5 and an upgraded processor & RAM as well as Touch ID. Consumers asked for it and Apple said, “okay, sure. Here you go.”
Next up, we’re expecting a 9.7-inch iPad although it’s yet to be known if that’ll be an iPad Air 3 or an iPad Pro with some suffix to indicate its smaller size. Whatever the name, the new iPad is expected to have four-speaker audio, smart connectors, support for Apple Pencil, and an A9 processor.
No luck for those hoping to see an Apple Watch 2, but rumors do indicate Apple will release new watch bands, likely in new colors and material.
This is also the time of year when Apple does some laptop updating. Perhaps we’ll see upgrades to the Macbook Pro and Mac Pro (fingers crossed), but rumors have been pretty hush on this front.
And since it’s Apple, there’s a possibility of “one more thing” to surprise us. I love surprises, and since this seems to be a pretty low-key event, a dazzling surprise would be awesome. Some people have suggested a Beats upgrade for the earbuds that ship with iPhone. But who knows.
What do you hope to see? Which rumored products are you likely to buy?
