The iBooks app for iPhone is a great way to collect and read your favorite books or pdfs. The iBooks store has the latest in e-reading across all genres. However, if you’re an avid user of iBooks, it’s easy to lose track of which books you’ve read and how many you haven’t. iBooks doesn’t let you filter by read and unread, but you can create collections to organize your reading list.
To do this, open iBooks and go to My Books. Tap the collection name at the top. In this case, All Books.
Tap New Collection. Label it Read. Tap Done. Create another New Collection and label it Unread.
Now you can sort your books into the two categories by tapping Select and Move. Then choosing the proper collection: Read or Unread. Add new books to the Unread collection and move them to Read when finished.
Pro Tip: If you have an iPhone 6s, you can also 3D Touch your book or novel and it will tell you if you’ve Finished, Just Started, New, or the percentage read.
This tip works with iOS 9 and later.
