Not only is this feature cool because it makes your iPhone experience more personalized, but it's also a great way to distinguish between two different phones. For instance, if your partner has two phones, one for work and one for personal use, the Contact Poster can be a simple way to distinguish what phone the contact is calling on, even if the contact name is the same.
- On your iPhone, open Contacts.
- Tap My Card.
- Tap Contact Photo & Poster.
- If you'd like this Contact Poster to be shared with your contacts when you make calls and texts, and enable Name & Photo Sharing.
- If you choose to enable Name & Photo Sharing, tap Share Automatically.
- From here, you can choose whether you want to share this contact poster automatically with your contacts or if you want to be asked before your iPhone shares it with the people you call.
- You can also update the way your name will appear.
- Now, tap Edit.
- Tap Customize.
- First, tap Poster to edit the contact poster. You can edit your Contact Photo later.
- Choose whether you'd like to take a photo now, choose from existing photos, use a memoji, or use a simple but classic monogram. For this example, I chose Photos.
- Once you select a photo, swipe from right to left to view filter options.
- Tap your name to access font & color options.
- When you're finished, tap Done.
- Next, you'll be shown a preview of what your new contact poster will look like when you call another iPhone user. If you like it, tap Continue.
- Next, you can choose to update your Contact Photo. Tap Continue if you like the new image.
- Or, tap Choose a Different Photo to create a custom Contact Photo to go along with your new Contact Poster.
- You can choose from a photo in your camera roll, a memoji, a monogram, or an emoji. For this example, I'll be using an emoji.
- Choose the emoji and then tap Style.
- You will be able to choose a background color. Tap it and then tap Next.
- If you're satisfied, tap Continue.
And that's how you create and customize the new Contact Poster feature in the Contacts app!
